White Pine Communications had plenty to do in the run up to the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. And it all involved putting words into the mouths of some high-ranking individuals.
One of my jobs was to translate the speech delivered by Daimler AG CEO Ola Källenius at the Mercedes-Benz and smart press conference. He delivered it in German and the simultaneous translator you can hear in the background is working from my translation. He had a lot to say, so it was split into four parts. I provided pretty much the same service for tier-1 supplier ZF Friedrichshafen, translating the speech made by CEO Wolf-Henning Scheider (pictured above) and delivering editorial support on the accompanying presentation. Then, on the second press day, it was the turn of exhaust system manufacturer Bosal to take to the stage with its press conference, once again with presentation material and press releases edited and translated by yours truly. Another major automotive supplier, Japanese plastics specialist Sekisui Chemicals, made its first ever appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, and I provided editing assistance to their German PR firm with the English versions of their press material and the speech held by, Masayuki Suda, the CEO of the group’s German subsidiary.
